Pick-up is in central Datong. The meeting point and time are confirmed with you the day before departure, and any change must reach us before 18:00 the previous day. Where a tour has a default stop, it is shown on that tour page.
Day tours normally return to Datong between 18:00 and 18:30. The exact drop-off point is confirmed with your guide on the day and can be adapted within the city centre.
First-entry admission to every site named in the itinerary is included, at the discounted rate already built into the tour price. Optional extras are paid on site: Hanging Temple climbing access ¥100, Yungang Grottoes e-car ¥15, Mount Heng cable car ¥70 and the Hengshan shuttle bus ¥20.
Travellers aged 70 and over must be accompanied by family, and under-18s must travel with an adult guardian. The tours are not suitable for pregnant travellers, or for guests with serious cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or respiratory conditions, epilepsy, severe diabetes or hypertension. Please tell us about any mobility needs when you enquire.
Datong sits on the Loess Plateau, where the gap between day and night temperatures is wide — dress in layers. Comfortable walking shoes matter on the mountain and crater paths, and bring motion-sickness medication if you are prone to it. Carry your passport or ID: it is required at some sites and for ticket concessions.

The guide may adjust the order of stops, or substitute a site, to suit traffic, weather and opening hours — without omitting anything. Where a ticket is refunded, it follows the discounted tour rate rather than the gate price. If a site sells out online for the day, entry is forfeited and the ticket is refunded.
